Based in Tokyo, Masanori Morita has been djing for the past 10 years and today widely regarded as one of the most exciting House DJ in Japan.

As a member of STUDIO APARTMENT, which is the acclaimed House outfit with Noboru Abe (Keyboards), closely worked with many talented artists such as Blaze, Monique Bingham, Joi Cardwell, Stephanie Cooke, Terrence Downs, Ron Carroll, Kimara Lovelace, Kenny Bobien and much more. Their soulful house production brings many action on the dance floor with tribal grooves and STUDIO APARTMENT has built up a reputation as one of the finest deep and house producers in Japanese dance music today.

Their smash hit track 'Flight' featuring Monique Bingham was supported by worldwide Djs like Danny Krivit, Dimitiri from Paris, Giles Peterson, Timmy Regisford, Phil Asher, Frankie Feliciano, Kiko Navarro, Joe Claussell, King Britt, Francois K, Louie Vega (M.A.W.), Blaze, Dennis Ferrer, Ron Trent, Kerri Chandler, Reel People and that led them to worldwide success.

In 2006, STUDIO APARTMENT created their own label “Apt.” on New World Records as a platform to put out quality house productions in Japan. The label represents the soulful and tech sounds of with the release of Dennis Ferrer, Tiger Stripes, DJ OJI and Jerome Sydenham.

With several hot new productions set to drop on labels including Kingstreet sounds and 4th floor (Defected), Masanori Morita expanded worldwide djing at Shelter (NY), WMC in Miami, some spots in LA, Paris Fashion Week, Walker Hills in Seoul and many remix works for major artists such as Dennis Ferrer’s How Do I Let Go.

In 2008, they released the album “The Rising Sun” on Kingstreet of which “I’m In Love” won the top of the “BEST OF DEEP HOUSE 2008” on Beatport and also being in chard of “BEST DEP HOUSE TRACK” in 2009.

Yasmeen, the newest, talented songstress to be signed with Defected Records as a recording and live performing artist, is refreshingly uncomplicated and yet slightly enigmatic by nature.

Whilst working on a children’s stage show that she was approached by a cast mate about writing a track and recording the female vocal. “I hadn’t done anything like it before but we sat down and wrote the song in about half an hour. We recorded the demo and it was sent off, just like that!” The track ‘Glad I found you’, a soulful melody with an R&B twang was picked up by Blaze Imprints. Several remixes of the track later, and it had a house edge which appealed to a whole new market. It was then that Yasmeen, now 26, was discovered and signed to Strictly Rhythm and Defected Records with plans to pop her on bpms the world over! “I’m going to have fun, do my bit and see where it takes me!” She says, excited at the opportunity and chomping at the bit to get in the studio and record again.

Her own lyrics are attentive and quixotic and she loves to tell a story, “I write about love, or whatever’s on my mind, it doesn’t matter… I’ll find something, a word, or the melody and build it from there…” Her passion for music is audible, and while now focusing on the melody and lyric writing aspects of making music. She’ll be recording releases with renowned house duo, Copyright, as well as embark on her first live tour in Europe with the inimitable ATFC.
