In a few short years Kitsuné - the Franco-Japanese company that’s breaking all the rules - has firmly
established itself as a force to reckon with. Cleverly bridging music, fashion and design, this young and unique brand is the brainchild of Gildas Loaec (Daft Punk’s ex art-director/manager) & Masaya
Kuroki who not content with merely directing the operations are also a fine pair of DJs – an activity that’s proven essential to run what is arguably the most exciting record label in the
world today.
Gildas & Masaya developed a partnership that proved fruitful, in the office getting ready to conquer the world with their exciting new venture fast shaping up as well as behind the decks – a union that came naturally for these two passionate music lovers.
But why is Kitsuné the record label so vital today? For most it’ll be because Kitsuné’s not about one genre or style, it’s about all of them, the sky’s the limit… Great music. Period. Kitsuné’s famous ‘Maison’ series regularly gathers the hottest new talents. Kitsuné is one record label that aims to break ground, having pretty much introduced to the world Digitalism, Klaxons, Simian Mobile Disco, Hot Chip, and more… Indeed more and more musicians can thank Kitsuné for having taken a risk on them at a time when hardly anyone was paying attention… a fact that sure makes the pair proud.

Back in 1989, Leonard T was Singapore's first music personality to push electronic dance music as a mobile club DJ, while
producing his own dance tracks at the same time (using only a synthesizer and drum machine then).
He's now a prolific studio industry figure in Singapore, having achieved commercial success recording, producing and remixing for legendary Singapore artistes like Anita Sarawak and Dick Lee.
He also founded and produced renowned dance bands Club Ecstasy and The Usual Suspects. Leonard T's own original compositions went on to win Best Local Album (1995 Radio Awards) and Best Instrumental (2004 Compass Awards).
As famously known from Leonard T's own artiste albums, his songwriting style is chic electro pop.

Terence began his DJ'ing career in 1998 at Echo KL, where he started learning the ropes under the tutelage of veteran DJ
Chris Doss.
Progressing rapidly, he then notched up further residencies in KL at Cubeat and Globar, where his renowned seven-hour sets on weekends earned him praise from many as the "hardest-working DJ in town".
Terence continued his career ascendancy by becoming a resident of the legendary Movement in 2000, and a host of others such as The Backroom, Emporium, Nouvo, and Atmosphere.
2004 saw Terence join the clubbing institution Zouk KL, spreading his inimitable brand of music during the club's regular "Push" nights while doubling up as a VJ as well.
However his most significant achievement thus far came a year later when he teamed up with fellow artists Callen Tham and Didjital to form the Altered Image collective and they went on to grab the coveted 2005 Heineken Thirst Malaysia championship by a considerable margin.
One of the pinnacles of Chicago house music's '90s wave, Derrick Carter began DJ’ing at the age of nine, spinning
disco records at family reunions. Born and raised in the western suburbs, Carter was into music from a young age, but during his teens Chicago's house scene sucked him in for good. Before long Carter
became a strong presence in the city's underground dance scene. "I was a fierce bedroom jock for a long time. After you mix for the love of it for six or seven years, you get it pretty tight and
you can take it on the road." He got by working at dance-music specialty stores like Gramaphone and gigging at parties. Later he landed regular DJ stints at Shelter, Foxy's, and Smart Bar. Though
he doesn't spin much locally anymore, when he does he attracts large crowds. Most of the time he works in Europe, where he's become a minor celebrity among dance-music aficionados.
Derrick’s sets are rooted in house, but he freely travels outside club tastes, seamlessly incorporating old-school disco, soul, jazz and whatever catches his fancy.
Since then pioneering, innovative tracks and consequent critical acclaim have repeatedly marked Derrick out as one of the most important players in Dance music.
Carter says that due to his growing notoriety his production talents have been requested by pop-oriented acts. But he prefers to remain underground. Although enthused about his own Blue Cucaracha label and a new UK-based imprint he runs called Classic, he's reluctant to offer much explanation of either label's MO--other than each releases records when the mood strikes him: "I like to keep myself pretty invisible. You may think I'm somewhere, but I've already left."
