Special thanks to Stadium, Kampus, and BeatClub.

Hello Gonzalo & Ramon! Glad to see you again after yesterday at Kampus!

Gonzalo & Ramon: Hello hello!

Did you get a good night's sleep after the gig yesterday? It was fab wasn't it?

R: Yessss, it was great yesterday. The club was so beautiful, the crowd was great, great soundsystem too, we really enjoyed our time being there!

This is your first time in Indonesia?

G: Yes! We are here not exactly for an Asia tour, but after Jakarta we're going to Bali and then we continue to do some gigs in Australia.

This is actually the first time international DJs play in 2 clubs in Jakarta for 2 nights - normally if you play in one club in Jakarta then you're not going to play in another one, but it's different because Stadium and Kampus are sister clubs. Anyway, you made history!

R: Ah, thanks! Didn't know that. In Ibiza you can play in El Divino one night and after that to Eden, Pacha, Amnesia, Privilege...

Yes, here isn't exactly the same. Anyway, I'd love to know how did you start using the name Balearic Soul? Where did the name come from? Are you originally from Ibiza? And do you also play separately sometimes? What is the difference between a single Balearic Soul set and the whole of it with two of you?

R: No, we're from the mainland. More than 15 years ago, we started DJing and we already had some experiences as partygoers in Ibiza and we just like the spirit in there, spirit, soul, in the Baleares - so we just decided to use the name Balearic Soul.

G: But even though we're not from Ibiza originally, now we practically live there every summer and in winter back in our studios in mainland...

R: Well we sometimes do play separately, but not so often and of course it's much more interesting to play together the two of us because we enjoy our time so much...Sometimes we have to separate because we have two gigs at the same night, but we try to play together more often.

G: No big difference between a single set and two of us - only littlest of details, but we share the same music sense and style and touch because we've been friends and partners for way too long that each one of us has absorbed the other's style and melted into one Balearic Soul, so...

Really cool! So you're bestfriends and partners at the same time. Well, I also like Ibiza so much. I remember riding on DiscoBus and strolled around the San Rafael / San Antonio...Do you get your inspirations from Ibiza when you make remixes/songs?

R: Haha, the DiscoBus. Like it too. Anyway, our inspirations do not come only from Ibiza - we seek to listen to a lot of music, attend gigs, and inspirations come from everyday's life - from a lot of things put together into a soul, the Balearic Soul...

How did you get the idea to remix Fish Go Deep's The Cure & The Cause? By the way, thank you for playing that song yesterday - it's been my favorite for a couple of years now.

R: Well it started with the previous remix of Moloko that really hit the success too, and then after that Defected Records UK just called us and asked if we wanted to make the remix of The Cure & The Cause...

G: We listened to the song and really loved it and it just clicked. We didn't expect it to be such a success.

Well, the song is really much better after you remix it, so no wonder it gets such a great success! Anyway, in the crowdy Ibiza, where rivalry goes so sharp that some DJs can't stand it, what is your secret to stay put in the scene?

G: We go round shooting all concurrent DJs...

R: Hahaha, no seriously no. Hardwork would be my answer.

G: Hardwork, creativity & production! You can be a great DJ but you can't pierce the scene and make your name if you don't do your own production, and try to market it as best as you can.

What is your biggest achievement so far? What are your goals for the future?

R: Well our biggest achievement is Balearic Soul touring the world - we've been traveling a lot ever since so I'm very proud of our works and gigs...

G: As for our future goals, we want to make more music, more remixes, and also one day our own label.

Your own club in Ibiza too?

R & G: Oh yeah of course that would be cool!! (laughing)

What have you prepared for tonight? Won't be the same set as for Kampus yesterday?

R: No no we've prepared something else. We adapt to the club and the crowd and people have told us that Kampus, even though sisters with Stadium, is very different from Stadium's fourth floor so yeah you'll see!

Thanks so much Gonzalo & Ramon, see you upstairs then?

R & G: Thanks to you, and yeah see you!
